experts, I met following problem --- I can not uninstall Nokia Qt SDK (since there is some problem on using it, I need to uninstall it and install it again).
    Who can help on this?

When I tried to uninstall the Nokia Qt SDK, an error occurred with the note:

There is some maintenance work ongoing. However, for the future, when you are reporting a problem, mention your operation system and SDK version.

I am not able to uninstall Nokia QT SDK (RC). I am getting the same error message, "Error while accessing online repository: Timeout while reading from server".

OS - Win XP Professional, SP 3.

I just need to uninstall temporarily and I am going to reinstall.

    Thanks,
    Srini

Facing same problem, "Error while accessing online repository: Timeout while reading from server", while installing "Nokia_Qt_SDK_Win_v1_0_rc_en_online.exe". I am using windows 7, i guess, accessing network might be the issue. Finally installed Nokia_Qt_SDK_Win_v1_0_rc_en_offline.exe

Offline install is always better than online.
So download the new Nokia_Qt_SDK_Win_v1_0_rc_en_offline.exe from the below link.

    Nokia Qt SDK

    Best regards,
    Rahul

I don't have Windows machine, so cannot check it. Just a guess, what if you try to install it Nokia Qt SDK 1.0 on top of existing SDK?

On top is not a good idea. Please remove it manually:

    * remove old Qt Creator settings in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Nokia (the postion of the Qt Creator settings files depend on which windows version you have)
    * remove old shortcuts in the start menu
    * remove the directory of your installed Qt Nokia SDK

Nothing more, the only one which is added to the registry is the file typ registration and this will added again with the new installation.

PS: More then one installation in seperate dirs is not a problem - only on top makes problems.

Even I had faced the same issue. make sure that you are not using any proxy or behind firewall. The uninstaller for some unknown reason tries to connect to the server and only then continues uninstall.

Also, try updating - it does not support update and then will ask you if you would like to remove it. Then remove it. But again make sure your internet connection is proper.

The unknown issue is that it is trying to get the information which package can be post installed. But it should be fixed in a newer version -> http://bugreports.qt.nokia.com/browse/QTSDK-16

If not please create an bug report.

PS: In the 1.0 release we added an argument("--proxy") to the SDKMaintenance tool which could help to get the proxy settings if there are some problems.

Hi All, Thank you for all your help.

Kamalakshan, You are correct. Proxy should be the reason. Now I have uninstalled.

I am going to try Nokia Qt SDK 1.0.

    Thanks
