could be easily done with putting swf in homescreen's backgrounds...

this function will be really nice... I would make my own homescreen UI

    anyone? feedback?

this will change the way the themes will be made... because you can change the entire homescreen UI and make your own movements, skin, and interaction... you'll be able to code(program, script) the themes...

and with an upgrade to "ActionScript AppManager Service API"(for flash lite) to be able to retrieve the icons of the applications this could be a really really nice thing... an open device, like symbian OS...

    waiting feedback!

talking about touch screen phones of course...

and, after http://www.callingallinnovators.com/ contest deadline will make a homescreen like application in swf to see what I'm taking about...

the developers can make apps or UIs... wouldn't be awesome?

    Hi Shpe11,
We already talked this over in the Flash Lite community.
As you imagine, wonderful UIs and newer avenues are opened. You can replicate the UI of other OEMs too.
But I would also like to point out that Flash Lite cannot be set as wallpaper on S60 v5 device (touch).
This is the current state. Hope it improves in next editions..

Since you are waiting feedback... here mine
Flash lite is not really optimized for that job and it doesn't belong to Nokia.
I think Nokia could make use of Qt QML to create animated wallpapers as well as any
    kind of Qt based plug-in.
Those can be easy to write, light and don't give any power problems.

take a look, and you tell me how easy is to do that in Qt

    Hi,
Your application is cool and it seems fast.. but it's fast enough? How many FPS do you have?
Is it already hardware accelerated? what about the memory footprint?
I think flash is good thing, but I won't never had a flash based phone. It's okay for applications but critical components like a dekstop...

Qt is easy to learn. Deploying application in Qt it's not difficult at all despite C++ it's not the easiest programming language
Anyway Qt QML is not C++.

This video shows a QtGraphics view based desktop... it's just a proof of concept...

ok, that is what I'm talking about...
will give it a try to this Qt, but from my experience in flash you got more control, and is fast for multimedia...
but the app there I can never make it in flash, because I don't have APIs that extract icons of the app... an so many others...
I see here is only for N900 and N8? hm... I'll have to wait until I get my N8...

Actually you can install Qt on your 5800 as well as several other Nokia symbian phones.
You don't need a new device to develop with Qt.
