Notify an application when a contact list changes in symbian

I am developing an application in j2me using PIM api to retrieve the contacts from the contact list and send the message.
But if the new contact is added how i get a notification so that i change my list of contacts.

Could you tell more about this, do you mean that your application would prompt a notification once a new contact has been added by using the native contact list application? (AFAIK there are no such methods available in Java ME)
