Nokia E61 Keyboard Layout issue in J2ME

Greetings all,

I am new in J2me world.My application tested well in DefaultColorPhone which comes with sun j2me sdk.Issue is after deploying in Nokia E63 in TextFiled after pressing keyboard only few character is shown.After google search i have found it iss the issue of different keyboard layout.

This is true my phone simulator keyboard and E63 keyboard layout is not same.Any advice or suggestion would be great .

When building Java applications, a good rule of thumb is that when there is a device or set of devices by specific manufacturer for which one targets the application, in order to ensure that the application functions as expected it is advisable to use related application building and test tools (such as SDK emulator) for the purpose. In your case for example, this stands for the following:

Nokia E61 (accordingly the subject headline for this thread) is a S60 3rd Edition device. The matching SDK for building and testing is S60 3rd Edition SDK, which can be downloaded from here:

For Nokia E63, the matching SDK is S60 3rd Edition, Feature Pack 1 SDK which is downloadable from the same page.

Thanks for your reply! i actually meant for E63 qwerty keypad issue.pressing any key in normal keypad corresponding numeric or alphabetic character appears on the TextField.But, In qwerty keypad (E63) when I press a alphabetic key nothing appears on the screen (as desired).But when a numeric-cum-alphabetic key is pressed with ctrl key it works. But i want to get the advantage of qwerty keypad.
