Streaming data from mobile?

Is it in any way possible to stream data form the mobile device (5800XM) to a HTTP server? I made a custom HTTP server that should be able to get, for example, sensor information from the phone in real time and do something with it. Is this possible?

Hi aiveldesign,

you can send any data you need to a remote server, by using standard Ajax calls. Note that actual "real time" is not possible: Ajax calls are actually standard HTTP requests, with all their limits and features. If you want a more "sophisticated" way to communicate data to a remote server (and back), you may want to look at other technologies (e.g.: Symbian C++).

I was thinking about AJAX but, as you said, the actual real-time is not possible with it. On the other hand my custom made HTTP server is local, meaning mobile device is going to connect to it via wireless. It's a WAN HTTP server and it should be pretty fast when it comes to AJAX calls. That's why I decided to give it a go and see if it works nearly as good as I expect.
