QT Support

Yes ,
they are the real symbian OS devices,,
Qt is not the OS, Qt is the programming language by which programmer can write program in Qt Creator or Qt SDK,

And then install in the Symbian devices.
Qt supports the Fifth edition touch devices that you are talking about.

The N97 mini (don't know about the X6) is pretty much identical to the N97 "large" and thus will run Qt, but only after you install the required support modules (qt-installer.sis).

The newer systems will (reportedly) have the Qt libraries pre-installed (and maybe a little better integrated). They will still be based on Symbian or Maemo, however, and presumably someone could still use the old languages to develop for them.

For the N8, you'll be able to develop apps using either S60 APIs or Qt APIs. Most of the N8 built-in apps (if not all) will still be S60 based in the N8 (and Symbian^3 in general).

So, for the N8 you can develop apps using the S60 5th Edition SDK, but there'll also be at some point a Symbian^3 SDK, possibly also (but hopefully not) even a separate N8 SDK (like there was for the N97, even if the "generic" S60 5th Edition SDK work for it, too).

From Symbian^4 onwards (no devices announced yet, and it'll probably be a while before any come), there's supposedly a binary break and no longer S60 compatibility and the built-in apps will also be Qt based.

I hope QT will be the only one SDK for Symbian system some day. Programming for Nokia devices is really a horrible thing now! To complicated in developing and testing!
