Well, you install the same packages on the device and in scratchbox.

Just to update this thread. Qt 4.7 packages are now available in extras-devel.
apt-get install libqt4-experimental-gui installs the basic GUI module.

The complete list of packages is available using apt-cache search qt4 experimental or just browsing the extras-devel repository: http://repository.maemo.org/extras-d...-experimental/

Just one question, anybody knows if there any (secret) plan to move qt 4.7 as final version for N900, and replace 4.6?

According to the commits in 4.7-fremantle [1] branch looks that at some point Qt 4.7 will replace 4.6.
So I think Qt 4.6 will be replaced with 4.7 with the PR coming after that 4.7 is officially out.

Apparently no set dates yet (a proper upgrade would require a PR anyway), but I wouldn't expect it before fall. The 4.7 in extras-devel is however pretty up to date and will be joined with QtMobility real soon, so for development purposes, it's very close to usable.

In the spirit of this, could we just for a moment return to the Qt4.7 question ? It is IMHO kind of the biggest tangible good news mentioned in this thread...

Ah yes, sorry. The maintainers of Qt for Maemo 5 are willing to get Qt 4.7 in good shape, yes. How well this will go depends of course of the results and feedback from the packages in extras-devel. They are optimistic and really willing to see Qt 4.7 across Maemo, MeeGo, MeeGo-Harmattan and Symbian.

If Qt developers are willing to develop apps using Qt 4.7 and specifically QML on the N900, the maintainers are willing to see the results and get your feedback.
