JAD file needed for PC Suite install with 2710 (S406th)?

Hello developers,

a customer wanted to install my software. He told me that trying to install just the jar file with the PC-Suite does not work.
He gets an message that the jad file is also needed.
The phone is a 2710 Navigation edition, which uses Series40 6th edition

With my other S40 phones, the jar file was enough to install with PC-Suite.
Has something changed here?

Better way of delivery for application to your clients will be, to make them available on a secure OTA link (password protected) by providing him with a WAP page link on some public IP, this way you can have the logs of User-agent the client is trying to install the app on and you can also quickly change the builds on your OTA server asking the client to try to reinstall the app,

Yes, I also think the jar file should be enough, but the "customer" told me otherwise. I don't have this phone that is why I ask.

Some people don't have internet connection on their phone, and some only have very expensive,
thats is why I want the software also available by download to PC .
And many people used it successfully.

This sounds good to me, if the software is Free and its non-connected application i.e. it doesn't need GPRS to run we should always allow PC downloadable process.
You can share the JAD file also with your customer and ask him to try to send both JAD & JAR file over Bluetooth to the phone from his Computer - if he has Bluetooth on both the ends.

There is no need for the PC Suite either, except you install via USB. Over Bluetooth OBEX Push just the JAR is no issue here with this model. I guess this is a bug in PC Suite, user experience , probably.
