Yes, Carbide will be replaced by Qt Creator.
Generally carbide C++ is made for the Symbian C++ development and .UI creation for the mobile platform. Is it meant that we should use now Qt SDK and Qt Creator instead?
But when Qt introduced Nokia has added Qt platform development within carbide.
Now they have specially launched the Qt creator for the Qt related development and Qt SDK, If you don't have the emulator,
So, ultimately carbide is replaced by Qt creator in Qt related development.
Cheers,
Ok, to qualify the statements above: Nokia Qt SDK, which includes Qt Creator, is the recommended SDK to use for Symbian applications development, using Qt. There will be still platform SDKs which can be used for more advanced projects which need to access features which are not offered by Qt, and for such SDKs you can chose to use either Notepad, Qt Creator or Carbide.c++. Carbide.c++ is currently developed with platform development in mind and will be used by Nokia and other Symbian Foundation contributors to build, debug and profile the Symbian OS packages and components.

Hi,
you can actually use these together - use Carbide for coding, and Qt Creator for debugging.
Just open the .pro file in the workspace directory with Qt creator and profit!

Yes, combinations are possible. You can also use Carbide.c++ for debugging in cases not supported by Qt Creator, such as S60 emulator (not simulator!) debugging.
