    Herllo Folks,
I have installed the latest version of Qt for Symbian (4.6.3) and Nokia QT Sdk (1.0) - but when I try and create an installer with Carbide, I get this error:
    Code:
SIS file C:\Symbian\Carbide\workspace\QtBallZ\BallZ.sis already up to date. Skipping...
SISX file C:\Symbian\Carbide\workspace\QtBallZ\BallZ.sis already up to date. Skipping...
    ***SIS Creation Complete

    ***Invoking makesis.exe ....
    C:\S60\devices\S60_5th_Edition_SDK_v1.0\epoc32\tools\makesis.exe C:\Symbian\Carbide\workspace\QtBallZ\BallZ_installer.pkg C:\Symbian\Carbide\workspace\QtBallZ\BallZ-Installer.sis
     Error : Cannot open file : C:/Qt/4.6.3/smartinstaller.sis
    (31) : error: file I/O fault.
    ***Non-Zero Status: makesis.exe returned with exit value = 1
    Total Time: 8 sec
I have checked, and the file really is not there. Where can I download the smart installer which is accepted on Ovi?

Can you please check (and post here if suspicious) the *_installer.pkg file? With the Nokia Qt SDK the file should be loaded from c:\NokiaQtSDK\Symbian\SDK\ where is should actually be located.

Qt for Symbian 4.6.3 has not been updated this week so you should not expect to find the final Smart Install in it.

Make sure to update the Nokia Qt SDK v1.0 if you have used the offline installer.

    Hi Lucian,
spoton. The SIS file my Carbide generated looks like this:

    Hi Tam,

it seems that my comment on your blog is waiting for moderation. The point I was making there was that the Smart Installer sis file is available on Forum Nokia's wiki where they will be kept up-to-date. Having older versions living on blog posts is not a good idea.

    Hi Lucian,
thank you so much - I have already enabled it. Sometimes, comments with an URL inside get filtered. I am sorry for that, it was in no way intentional.

I have a disclaimer at the bottom which states that users are urged to go away - but as I would have had an easier life had the instructions been available, I will leave it if you so permit.

That's not my comment, mine should have been under my name and with link to my blog as well. But what it is important is that the links to the "official" resource is now available so all is cool form my point of view.

    Hi Lucian,
I have looked for it again, but could not find it.

Did you get an error while posting?
