getUrl + SMS does not work in Nokia Messaging devices?

It seems that getUrl(sms:...) calls does not work in Nokia Messaging powered devices. For example, trying to run Forum Nokia sample (http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...S/MMS_messages) in E52 does not work at all. Pressing Send SMS or Send MMS buttons does absolutely nothing.

Is there any working solution for sending SMS via Flash in these phones (almost all latest S60 3rd Edition devices)? Any help is appreciated.

In S60 phones, this function getUrl(sms:...) will not immediately send the message but open the built-in SMS/MMS editor filled with the given parameters.

I know this extremely well. Our current released product uses this API to open the built-in SMS app but as I described, this does NOT work on devices which has Nokia Messaging based SMS/EMail app. My questions still are:
1. Why does this forum Nokia sample (or any getUrl(SMS:...) call) does not work in E52 or any Nokia Messaging based phone
2. Is there any working solution to open SMS app with pre-populated fields in these phones?

I am also aware of security domain / trusted folder limitations, we have investigated all these solutions without any help. I am also aware that SMS functionality can be accessed in S60 5th Edition phones using platform services but that is not a suitable solution for us (we need a functionality that can be used in S60 3rd Edition also).

I am a quite frustrated with this issue because there is REALLY, REALLY little amount of reliable information available from Nokia/Adobe side for using getUrl. Flash Lite developer information in Forum.Nokia seems to be mainly from novice developers (and targetted mainly for beginners).

Does anyone use this API in their Flash Lite-based (commercial) products? Any experiences from E52 / Nokia Messaging based phones?

Great to hear that somebody else has this same problem! I am still unable to find any working solution to this. Nokia Staff, Flash Lite gurus or anybody involved with this functionality: is this REALLY broken in all recent Nokia models? getURL('sms:xxxx?body=test') works in Nokia S40 all version, S60v1,S60v2, but it doesn't with s60v3.
I don't know why

I'm so confused. I'm working with flash lite & actionscript but I can't solve this problem.
Does it have another way to send sms in s60v3? I tryed to use "platform service" but nothing done.

Hi,
Firstly, try all the tips provided here to make getURL work:
A-little-trouble-with-e-mail
but if it doesn't work even after applying the above tips, then the only option we left with (in 3rd edition phones) is extending flash lite using Symbian C++, Python or any other language that provides sending sms capability etc. For more details on making a local http server to extend flash lite, search this dibo. Hope it helps..

I solved this problem.
Plz use:
getURL("sms:xxx?body=yyy","_blank");
You need the parameter "_blank" to open message editor of S60v3

Thanks for sharing that you resolved this issue by using "_blank" .Hope some other developers who are facing this issue also post whether they are able to fix it by using this method or not.

uhm. I put my application to the inbox of Nokia E71. So it worked.
but in memory card, it's not.
