As subject, if I use Nokia QT SDK (free edition) to develop a Symbian application, could I submit it to Ovi Store and get paid? What will be the cost of the publishing? One time 50€ fee?

    Thanks for your reply.

The name of the framework you are trying to use is Qt, not QT

Yes, you can distribute Qt applications freely, be they freeware or paid apps. Licensing terms apply but there are several licenses you can use Qt under, including LGPL 2.1. See http://qt.nokia.com/products/licensing/

As for costs: 50€ is the registration fee for the store, to which you may have to add the certification costs (for Symbian) unless you chose to use Nokia's free signing (beta) offer. See Public Beta of Nokia Signing Symbian Apps for Free and Individuals can now register as Ovi Publishers

Giving you more perspective on self signing: you need to have a registered company to do it. Then, you pay 200$ a year, and 20$ or so per app sis file.

The benefits: no "reimburse us for damages" clause with Nokia, allowed to also distribute on Sony Ericsson and Samsung.

The weakness: you need a registered company. More hassle.

Self-signing, it its common understanding of signing with self-generated certificate, is free. It can be applied to Qt applications as well, including to those using the smart installer, but will not be accepted by Ovi Store.

Tam, you are comparing above Nokia's free certification offer (i.e. Nokia pays the certification costs for you, and signs the apps using its Publisher IDs) vs. standard Symbian Signed (you take care of certification). Yes, there are advantages and limitations, therefore one must chose. Wisely.

I think one time 50€ fee per user (and not for app) and no percentage on revenues by Nokia is a great offer!

But keep in mind that you can also make SOME loot at Samsungs (not really anymore, but it was fun while it lasted) and SE's (VEEERY horrific QA, Nokia is heaven compared to that).
