Nokia X2-00 - JSR234 : It's a joke ??

Hi,

I've bought a Nokia X2-00 because it's one of the phone which allow FlashControl use.

I've made a little application which create a Canvas and take a picture.
And when I use this method : flashControl.getSupportedModes();
It said that only one mode is supported and it's FlashControl.OFF.

Then my question is what is the interest to allow developers to use FlashControl if the only available mode is the OFF mode ?

Now I have a Nokia X2-00 but I can't use it for my development because I need to take picture with flash ...

What can I do now ? If I'm looking for another phone with FlashControl how can I be sure that that will allow different mode ?

You can see the supported package here in JSR-234 which is Advanced Multimedia Supplements.

Hmmm.. there are some contradictions about the extent of the camera capabilities included on that device.
The device spec says (as you state) that FlashControl is supported, but the Java ME developer's library does not list that control at all

rahulvala, seems that the wiki page you listed needs some updating as the Series 40 6th edition devices contain some camera functionality in AMMS

Yes this is a joke....
According to the Device specifications:

the C3-01 the X2-00, the 6303i classic and the 3710 should have implement the FlashControl.
Unfortunatelly the result is the same on the 6303i, (tried on hardware), and on the X2-00 and the C3-01 (tried on RDA).
The getSupportedModes returns with 1 element (OFF), and any other value throws Flash method not supported exception...
