Need Ovi Maps API for build Mobile Application.. When Ovi maps API Available.
unofrtunately there are no APIs available at this point of time.
As there are no relese timetables available publicly, I can not have any comment on that.
As there are currently no Nokia API available, I can not recommend anything really. But you could check our wiki and search for older discussions, they propably would help you with some suggestions.
Use Google Maps.
An example is here:

I have, too, been trying to get my map into my website. I simply want to embed it! Bing and Google maps do this by simple having an "embed" button.
Why has the API info been removed?
I'm looking at http://www.programmableweb.com/api/ovi-maps-player which points to a place here, but seems to be removed. Why is this?
Also, Sonny talks about Ovi Maps (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHtyQ...eature=related) and how easy it is to use. It seems to be far from the truth as API docs are removed and I've spent over two hours trying to embed a map on my website without success. This is from May 20th, what's going on? Is the Ovi Maps project being abandoned?
Thanks in advance
Hi there,
Nokia has already for some time offered a set of Location Based APIs;
Map Image API for HTTP
Maps API for JavaScript
Places API for JavaScript
Maps API for Qt
Maps API for J2ME
They can all be accessed via this consolidated landing page:
http://www.developer.nokia.com/Develop/Maps/
The Maps API for JavaScript web site is
http://api.maps.nokia.com
It has an integrated PlayGround with a lot of examples to explore and you can view the code for each.
It also features a Developer's Guide and Getting Started documentation plus access to the full API Reference.
There are several Wiki articles written already, just seek for "Nokia Maps API".
Feel free to join the discussions on these APIs on the Projects side.
Best Regards,
Marko

I cannot find any Maps API for Java ME reference working. Is it actually supported and exposed by Nokia for developers?
If I follow the link:
http://www.developer.nokia.com/Develop/Maps/
it seems MAPs API for Java ME is supported. So I follow the link "Read more" link for Java ME respectfully. So I got to the page "Maps API for Java ME", nice. When I try "Download API package" I receive formore than week: "Please notice
We apologise for the inconvenience, our elves are working feverishly to bring the service back online.
We know how important it is to access your information. At this time we have no exact forecast of when the service will be accessible again."
OK, another try "Getting started, Prerequisites", point 5 "5. At this point you can download the binary JAR of the Maps API for Java ME itself.". What you get is": QT Mapping Tool, NOT the expected Java ME itself.
There are more broken refferences.
I have already lost a lot of time looking for ME resources. Could you please provide me with information what it the current and actual status of MAPs API for Java ME?
Best regards
Eligiusz
Many new API-s are distributed via "Projects". It is part of the Community panel above, and as such, it contains code, documentation and related discussions with a mixed Nokia and 3rd-party origin. The unfortunate thing is that some "community members" tried to hack or hacked that part of ND a week ago or so, thus it is down for now.
So besides this thread, also keep an eye on discussions related to this Projects-break, like http://www.developer.nokia.com/Commu...t-will-be-back
(Yes, I know that you are aware of that thread already, just others may also encounter this discussion)
Hi Marko

Just to send http request and get the answer in xml format?
