Monitoring Phone Calls in Qt Symbian

Is there a set of Qt classes for subscribing to call events (ingoing and outgoing) and acquiring call information in Qt? ideally for QtMobility but I'd settle for a QtSymbian subset.

Please don't suggest using the Symbiam C++ classes directly - I'm well aware CTelephony and I'm using Qt to avoid the horror of Symbian C++ Plus I'd like to acheive some mobile platform independence.

I did see references to Qt Mobile Extensions, but buggered if I could figure out where to download them or whether they where even still supported.

You can download mobile extension api from below link see at the end of the page in this link at Archive part download Third Preview Package:

In this mobile extension api you can use xqtelephony class which provides functionality for subscribing to call events.

Yes, Qt Mobile Extensions is deprecated API, but should be still working.

I can see its going to take a bit of tweaking to get it working with QtCreator 2.x/Qt 4.6.3 - perhaps if I just include the extension source direct into the project rather than try to rebuild the libraries?

Is there any timeline for QtMobility gaining a similar API?

Extarct Mobile_extensions_preview_3.zip into your directory in my case its C:\Mobile_extensions_preview_3

You should include following lines in your pro file:

DEFINES += XQTELEPHONY_NO_LIBRARY
include (C:\Mobile_extensions_preview_3\extensions\src\telephony\telephony.pri)
INCLUDEPATH += C:\Mobile_extensions_preview_3\extensions\include
DEPENDPATH += C:\Mobile_extensions_preview_3\extensions\src\telephony

And just include xqtelephony .h
I have tried this way and its working.

Thanks for the great hint! I did exactly as you told, but now I have the problem, that the compiler misses the Etel3rdParty library. I know this one comes from Symbian C++, but I don't have a clue how to add it to my QtDesigner project. I'm absolutely new to Qt and Symbian programming, so sorry for the most likely trivial question.

I use the Qt for Symbian standard installation (bundle). Maybe somebody could tell me, how I have to add the missing library to my .pro file in order to get XQTelephony working.
And second: Is it enough to install qt_mobile_ext_libs.sisx on the device, so that the application will run on it?
