how to check phone silent in j2me

Hi,

I am trying to play sound on nokia 2700 .
it plays very comfortably.

but when i keep application tone & other tone in off mode using setting on phone
then my application play sound but you can't hear it. Also it is not producing any error.
it goes to next option very smoothly.

Does any one knows how to check where application tone & other tone are off or not?
can we turn on these tone thr' j2me.?

If the bold/italic line are related to the profile of the device, then this can not be accessed using the Java ME.
