how to create my first application for X6?

hi all,
i am a newbie in creating symbian application. i planned to start with an application for X6.
please let me know what are the software in need to install? is there any tutorial for application development?? please let me know, i am totally confused with Qt for symbian.
P.S: is n900 only capable of running the applications created in QT? does it run in any other device?

Hi,

You should check out the Nokia Qt SDK, it's probably the best tool for Qt developers, especially beginners.

There is a tutorial about getting started here, as well as a very good article from the Symbian Foundation: Qt Quick Start (I recommend you read this one first). Not to mention a video overview and many useful articles in the Wiki: http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.php/Category:Qt

Hi,

You can run your Qt application in any Symbian 3rd edition FP2 or later device but the only limitation is you are require to installed Qt in that device while N900 had a support for the Qt in its new firmware so you not required to installed anything in N900.

You can run your application on any device that supports Qt. You just have to build it accordingly (same code, built for different platforms).

Please read the getting started tutorial I mentioned in my first post very carefully. The answer to your question is in steps 1 and 4 of that tutorial. Basically all you need to start creating Qt apps is the Nokia Qt SDK.

Carbide c++ is this essential??? but i am using Qt SDK

No, you don't need Carbide.c++ if you're using the Nokia Qt SDK.
