location request timed out

hello,

it works fine on netbeans and eclipse, but when i tried to execute on my cell phone (nokia n85) the app is executed and starts but after few seconds appears this message "location request timed out"

any ideas???

hello , make sure that your mobile GPRS plan is supporting HTTP protocol.
even i faced the same problem when i tried to open HTTP connection from my midlet
i changed my internet plan , since then its working fine

thanks 4 your reply but finally i resolved the problem. it was that when i executed the program i didn't have GPS coverage.

Hi ravindrashenoy and welcome to Nokia's Discusison Boards,

It might be a better idea to start a new thread that describes the issue you are facing.

If you are dealing with similar time outs, you might want to try the Assisted GPS location retrieval that gets a location object even when obstacles are present in the direct line of sight with the satellite.
