    Hi is it possible to get mobile configuration settings (settings -> configurations) on to a midlet?? or display it somehow?? while supporting various os through java me alone ???

    What type of configuration settings do you want to fetch from the device ?

    Hi Amitabh

    I want to fetch details like access point , static IP address, port number an home page, connection name etc??? I am new to this concept an have little less idea how to go about it?? it would be great if you could guide me through???

    well you cannot select an apn programmatically, so (im not sure though) I am also guessing that retrieving a list of apn's is a nono on j2me... most networking details are kinda of kept hidden to j2me, because accessing those might result in a broken internet connection/setttings which will affect the whole phone not only your app...

    Hi Raj,

    I have tried the system properties earlier but its either limited to certain mobile models and i am not able to fetch data lik access point, data bearer or ip address or so set in the system configurations for internet connectivity. how do u think i can go about it??? is it possible to parse a xml to get data from such properties or any other possibilities??

    If not in j2me how else can i get to select the apn settings??? what are the possibilities?

    Hi I guess you dont want these settings through code as you described in your post so for APN name and other info related to networking one has to browse for system settings in mobile as far as values that are to be passed in these fields depend upon the network and phone model one is using and are provided by the service provider

    personally I'd go for Symbian and thus c++ to retrieve that kind of info programmatically...
