Extracting frame from video clip

Hi all,

I tried to use CVideoPlayerUtility::GetFrameL() to extract the first frame of a video file but to findit does not work. The callback MvpuoFrameReady(CFbsBitmap& aFrame,TInt aError) never got called. I found that many people got that problem after googling. So is there any other way to get the first frame of a video file?

Basically GetFrameL is not implemented, thus it does not work.

For some SDK-s, you can find DevVideo API-s in the plug-in packs (http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.php/SDK_API_Plug-in), that may help in getting frames from a video. The generic solution would be getting your own codec (porting FFMPEG for example, you can find discussions about porting it to Symbian/Open C, and you may find something on http://www.movino.org too).

I found thumbnailmanager in PDK, which I can use to get video thumbnail. However, the thumbnailmanager has not been included in symbian^3 SDK by now, so you will have to find it in PDK if you need it. Please let me know if you need any help.
