How to run s60 sdk Emulator with QT Creator

I was following these steps but I think this article is little old now.

My toolchain is disable in QT Creator and I can not change it. I tried changing QT version but there were onlly 2 options one was "Simulator QT for Mingw 4.4 (Nokia QT Sdk)" and another was "Simulator QT for VS 2008 (Nokia QT Sdk)" and these can not start emulator.

So any solution?

I am using QT Creator 2.0.0
Actually simulator is not working as expected so I am now dependent on Emulator.

I think you must install s60 SDK and qt for symbian(the latest version is 4.6.3). The creator will auto-detecte qt versions after install, and you can add the toolchain .

Ops !! I forgot to tell that I already have both but Creator is still not able to detect them.

Open QT Options, switch to Qt Versions tab, click the "s60_5th_Edition_SDK...", and you will find that two directory under side: CSL/GCCE directory and carbide directory. Choose the toolchain for CSL/GCCE directory.

Are these directory path right ?

I am targeting 3rd fp1 so I made changes in that instead of 5th edition.

After making those changes, I closed the QT Creator IDE and deleted the .pro.user file and when I opened .pro file it agained asked me about Targets to buid and fortunately this time there was an option for choosing my s60 3rd fp sdk. Now I can run the Emulator from QT.

Make sure you are deleting .pro.user and not .pro file

I have the same problem, I am still unable to use the S60 SDK Emulator from Qt Creator (2.0.1 with Nokia Qt SDK).

In my project I have 2 target : "Qt Simulator" and "Symbian Device"
In Symbian Device I have 2 configurations: Qt for Symbian Devices (Nokia Qt SDK) and S60_5th_Edition_SDK_v1.0 (Qt 4.7.1)

If I choose S60_5th_Edition_SDK_v1.0 (Qt 4.7.1), the compiler generates a .sis

The process "C:/NokiaQtSDK/Symbian/SDK/epoc32/tools/make.exe" exited normally.
Starting: "C:/NokiaQtSDK/Symbian/SDK/epoc32/tools/make.exe" sis
make -s -f Makefile ok_sis

Successfully created untitled2.sis for debug-gcce using certificate: Self Signed!

The process "C:/NokiaQtSDK/Symbian/SDK/epoc32/tools/make.exe" exited normally.

and complains: "There is no device plugged in."

Did you follow step 2 and step 3 from http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...th_Qt_Creator?

2. In the "Build Settings" section select the Debug option, then press Add | Clone Selected to copy the current debug configuration. Give the configuration a meaningful name like "Symbian Emulator Build". Note that cloning a Debug configuration ensures that the new configuration builds debug binaries (Emulator release builds are not supported)
3. You may need to specify Tool-chain directory; use C:\Program Files\CSL Arm Toolchain. You can set this by clicking on "Manage" button and then select your Qt installed version and then browse for "CLS/GCCE Directory"

These two steps are must for targeting the emulator.
