Samsung to discontinue support for Symbian

There has been a discussion or two on FN about Symbian on hardware platform besides Nokia. To multi-platform developers, this news article from Samsung about their discontinuation of support for Symbian may be useful.

Extract from the web site:

"Samsung Mobile Innovator will discontinue its Symbian support service from December 31st 2010
...
We recommend posting any new discussion board queries no later than the 10th of December 2010 to ensure your issue can be addressed prior to the Forum’s closure. Please take this opportunity to download any required documentation before all content is removed. Registration and certification of Symbian applications for the Samsung Apps store will cease from 08:00am on the 31st of December 2010. "

its not official announcement, it seems a internal forum closure of samsung. Ericsson has dropped symbian officially

However, I havent seen much sales from the Omnia HD for ages. Sony Ericsson killing their dev service is much bigger news...
