We have a problem
We installed Symbian^3 SDK
We started carbide
make a new project
Build the application
we receive this error
Creation Time Description Resource Path Location Type
1286769818984 cannot find include file: 'domain/osextensions/platform_paths.hrh' at \test1\group\test1.mmp:9 test1.mmp /test1/group line 9 Carbide.c++ Editor Problems

How can we get start to build symbian^3 from carbide
Is there is any GUI project template?

the example you are trying to use appears to have some stuff that should not be there. thus:
1. remove the line for "platform_paths.hrh" from your mp file
2. remove inclusion of "test1_0xE50DFF66.hlp.hrh" from your "test1AppUi.cpp" file
3. See where the "KGeneral_Information" is used in "test1AppUi.cpp", then either remove it, or add the literal definition for it.

Regarding carbide templates is there is a project template for symbian¤3
or we should use s60 carbide default template
we are targetting N8 device

Gotta say that I harly ever use the templates, I have my own empty project things that I re-use, just to get all parts excatly as I like them. anyway, I would assume that the templates should work, since there are really not that much difference on the platform from basic application structure point of view.

All the Generic Symbian OS template will go for symbian^3 but not the GUI template.

You can create Empty project using carbide in symbian^3 and can add your stuff.
