I think you need to partner for an API System Startup API
    You can contact

You won't be able to do this sort of thing easily as a 3rd party app developer, you'll almost certainly need to do this in conjunction with an OEM etc. as the abilities you want won't be granted to a regular developer.

there is of cource always a chance that the required API would be part of the Symbian foundation open source codes, thus if you are targettting Symbian^3 devices, you could always try searching the sources.

Personally I would rather bet on RFS (not RFs, but Reset File System)

    What do you mean wizard_hu_?
I know there is internal API for 3rd/5th edition and that need to be partner from Nokia. And for later devices may be post #4 might help.

    I meant this one: http://developer.symbian.org/xref/os...nc/rfsClient.h
But you are right, according to http://developer.symbian.org/xref/os...p#ActivateRfsL, RStarterSession can be used for doing a reboot+rfs in a single step.
And yes, I was also wrong about "Reset File System"...
