Updating an app thats already published

Hi All,

I am about to update an app and I am concerned if I choose edit file, it will unpubilsh the app and I have to wait for another 2 weeks to get the app back up.

Whats the procedure for updating an app on the ovi store- its not documented anywhere- even in the publishers guide!

Would be great to know.

Hi Mobileboke,
I believe that you don't have to worry about that. Published version of the application will remain published during the QA period. Even if the app won't pass the QA for new version old version will remain published.

If you don't believe me check at Publisher support.

Just upload the new binary. And send an email to publishtoovi, as you might get a feature out of it.

HOWEVER: users will NOT be notified! So adding an UPDATED ON text to the app description is helpful!

Yes, if your app is published, and you update the files/content, the existing app will remain in the Ovi Store. When the updated app has passed QA and is published, only then will it replace the existing one.

Let me clarify: new downloads will then be handled by the new version.

Clients already on the old ver, well, look bad.
