version managment of 2 diff. UID

How do you easily change the UID for your carbide c++ project file ?

If I make an app, it needs to have the uid of free area to be able to test it in the Remote devices.
Then when I send it to ovi I need to have different UID

Is it possible to change the uid. From which menu & which files? (s605th & 3rd)

Search in files, and replace the occurrences. Carbide.c++ has a Search menu, but you can use other tools as well (most two-panel file managers like Total Commander, FAR Manager, etc.) are capable of doing that.
You should also replace the UID in filenames if they appear (it is a good practice for avoiding name conflicts).
The most basic places: UID line in .mmp, UID3 line in _reg.rss, .pkg file header and the constant returned from AppDllUid method.

Hi,
I am not a pro, but faced the same problem tonight. Do this:
a) Back up to CVS
b) Update mmp file
c) Use Search -> File -> Replace (the GUI is a bit weird)
d) Look again for old UID occurances
