Qt 4.6.2 and N96

Hello,

does anybody succeed in running Qt 4.6.2 apps on a N96 phone? I try to launch FluidLauncher or any Qt demo application, but all crash at the launch with panic Kern-Exec 3 in main.

I haven't see anything about Qt not supported by N96 in the internet.

Hi,
Qt will not be supported on N96.

The main problem is that it seems Qt 4.6.2 is compiled for ARMv6 instruction set while N96 supports only ARMv5.
Also affects N96 clones 6788/6788i/C5-01/X5-00 but those are AFAIK the only ones.

Is there any plan to make Qt available on the N96? I don't know... firmware update, new version of Qt...

The N96 is old iron, and the Qt Symbian developers have enough on their plate preparing for the new devices just out or coming out in the next few months. It's unreasonable to expect the support for the N96 to ever happen.

Sorry, but the N96 is INSANELY popular. IMHO, giving developers an extra device to makie loot off would be a great step.

No one makes any money giving away free software. Unless it drives phone sales it's not gonna happen.

ok - the N96 wont sell anymore.

But developers also need to make a living, or they go elsewhere...
