Adding new metadata on already passed Content item

So I have some content items, whose files are in progress but the content items themselves had passed the QA before the addition of the new mood tag content data. Now when I click on the content items, I am given a warning at the top of the page saying:

"Revision 26 of this content item has some metadata requirements that have not been met (see Content Item tab below).
Please edit the item and provide the missing data. "

Now I believe the file should pass QA soon (due to other files submitted at similar times passing recently) so I do not want to edit the content Item and add the metadata as this could delay the publishing of my app. And the content Item's status is still passed, so my question is, will my app still get published without the new metadata as the Item's status is passed?

AFAIk without adding the missing content your app will not be published.
After adding the content your app will again submitted for QA.

Your other apps which got published wouldn't not have any such error.

But if your app status is passed then it must be published else the status should have been failed.

Thanks for the reply. Just to be explicit, the apps that I am worred about have not been published, their "Item" status on Ovi Publish was and is still "Passed" but their "Files" status is "In Progress". The "Item" is the part that the new metadata is part of.

I had the same situation. My content item had passed while the file was in progress. This morning I edited the content to add the new Categorization Tags. Thus I had to resubmit it to QA. I hope they will check it soon, since the file shows 97.5% passed.

Same thing for me too. However I did not edit and resubmit the item, I still think it is unnecessary as it has already passed (only the Item has passed, not the File).

Well in my case it passed again in less than a day.

Yes. They seem to have an extra team only for metadata - most metadata changes were swift as a missile here...

Dear publishers,

To clarify the policy about new metadata field - categorization tag, we do not fail any content because of this tag if the content item is already QA passed. If the content item is still pending, of course we will be failing it because of the missing tag.
