HTTPS Issue On S60

Hi All,

I am developing an J2me application that uses HTTPS calls. On S40 devices application works fine but when I tested my application on S60 devices it gives me problem while connecting to server.

My question is :-

1) Is MIDlet requires signing if it is used HTTPS requests?
2) If answer to above question is yes then is there any alternative .

Please help me ASAP..

thanks for reply njzk2..... I am testing my app on E60 device , the problem found on successive https calls, first call is just fine but when call second htts call it gives me IOException. On emulator and on S40 devices application works fine .Please give any suggetion to resolve this issue...

Hi,

Can you provide the IOexception number.
Mostly probably it is due to , before completion or waiting for first request completion of https,
you might be initiating a new connection request.

Can u please tell me the reason why it is working on emulator and s40 devices 5th / 6th edition devices and not on S60 ?

Hi,
I am able to resolve issue.............

This https issue comes on S60 devices even for single request also... Https issue gets resolved by just changing the Https method from GET to POST.
Please answer my following question.........
Is GET method going to create problem while making secure HTTPS connection ?

your parameters will be in the url, therefore they may be visible

njzk2, the SSL connection is build to the host before the URL is send and HTTP is done. Consequently, parameters are not visible.

Normally, the answer is No. Furthermore, you do not have to sign your MIDlet for HTTPS (methods GET or POST). If your URL contains a query part, you might run into other problems (URL too long, parameters with reserved vales not escaped, …). We would need your complete URL. Sounds like a bug.
