Invoke a method in a widget from a web page ...

Hi All,

I need to invoke a method in a javascript file in a widget from a web page using javascript. Is this possible? If so, then how? For instance a web page contains a button, which when clicked invokes a method - getGPSdata() in a javascript file called basic.js in the widget.
Could someone please help me out?

I'm not sure I've correctly understood your question: is the "web page" you're referring to loaded (and displayed) from the widget itself?

Yes, the web page is loaded and displayed from the widget itself.
I have a web page with a few buttons, one of which is "Map" which shows a map, when clicked.
This page is hosted on a web server.
I load this page from my widget and when I click on the "Map" button, it tries to invoke a method in a javascript file "basic.js" which is a part of the widget package, which in turn fires up the GPS module on my device and sends location coordinates to a specific URL, which plots the device location on the map.
