    Hi All,

I have an application which uses ReadDeviceData capability. To run this app on device, i need to have a certificate. Currently i am having the OVI_12-03-2010.crt and respective key. But this certificate gives an error "Requested application access not granted".
So, according to me, first I shud get the publisher id with this capability enabled and then generate a certificate and key to test this application. Am I right? Is this OVI_12-03-2010.crt of any use right now?

    Thanks in advance.

Try using Open Signed for testing.

Thanks, but is there any other way to do this testing. Is getting a Publisher ID solution to this problem. This is company specific so do u think, using Open signed a good idea.

Open Signed is for testing. You can sign the app to be valid for exactly one phone.

You can also get the Ovi store signature stuff (which it sounds like you may already have), but it's a bit more involved (though less involved than Symbian Signed).

Eventually you need to jump through the hoops to get the app either Ovi Signed or Symbian Signed, but not for testing, if you use Open Signed.

What do you exactly mean by OVI store signature stuff. In my case, when I use ReadDeviceData Capability, it gives error at the time of installing. Does this certificate does not support ReadDeviceData capability.

I don't know what certificate it is you have. A standard "self-signed" certificate is not sufficient to grant ReadDeviceData. Use Open Signed.
