Sign Application

Hello Frnds,
I made an application in J2ME.
in This application I'm Using Socket Connection.
My application get completed. so i want to sign my application (.jar file)
i search about process of signing application.
Is there any way to sign application freely. ........... cause from my application not getting me any type of finance supports..so i just want to know How to FREE sign application.

Submit it to the Ovi Store. Before that, make sure to follow the Java Verified Testing guides.

You have to read a lot on your own. Java Verified and the Ovi Publishing process might look difficult on the first glance. However, these are valuable steps to create a good App. If you preparing everything, this thread and its links might help: Click.

By the way, for SocketConnection you might not need to sign your MIDlet.

Thanks friend.....but why i dont required sign when i use socket connection

The implementation of SocketConnection using TCP sockets MUST throw java.lang.SecurityException
when a MIDlet suite belonging to the Unidentified Third Party Protection Domain attempts to connect on
ports 80 and 8080 (http) and 443 (https).

If you use port 80, consider to use HttpConnection instead. Then and with all other ports you do not have to sign your MIDlet. Except your distribution channels mandates it. The Ovi Store requires code signing. Even with signing, the default permission does not differ. Still, your user has to change the permission manually. Once done, your user does not get a single security anymore. Furthermore while installing, your user does not get a warning about the unidentified source.
