smart installer fails with “Certificate error contact application supplier”.

Hi

I’m trying to make a sis file for my application using the smart installer. (I have done this successfully before with other applications)

I first made a signed sis file containing my application, and that installs ok on my C7.

I then made a sis file containing the latest 46 smart installer and my signed sis file. When I try to install it says

Installing,
Verifying components
Finalising

and then

“Certificate error contact application supplier”.

I don’t understand this, it can’t be my embedded signed sis as that installs ok on it’s own. The smart-installer seems to be running, it’s almost like the smart-installer tries to download and install a dependent component that has a certificate problem?.

Anybody seen this problem?

A certificate error is something that must be traced back to the signing process. Somehow the file you are wrapping with the smart installer is not properly signed (or not signed at all).
Please have a look at the generated logs ( see http://tinyurl.com/SmartInstaller ) and maybe also apply the trick at http://blogs.forum.nokia.com/blog/lu...er-debug-guide to get a bit more info (errors 20 to 26 are to be expected)

Hi Lucian

Thanks for the very useful link to your blog and swierrors.sis.

I ended up using epoc32/tools/dumpsis.exe to check inside my signed sis file.
I have it working now and have re-submit to Ovi.
