    hi everyone,

i want to ask about signing an application for all devices.
i created an application that i purchased a certificate and key for one specific device that i used it( purchase it according to the serial number of that specific device).

Now after finishing the application , i want to use it on all devices
so what should i do? i read about smart installer ,but it required a key and certificate...from where should i get those to make my application work on all devices and how can i do it?

    Thank you for any help..

You will need to purchase publisher ID from any Trusted Center.....after that you will need to mention all symbian platform version UID than submit for express signing ur application to symbiansigned.com. finally you will get installation file sis/sisx. this file you can install in all devices...

Unfortunately I am not sure if you have done a right thing by investing there. But check http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph..._certification
When publishing an application you have to Symbian sign it https://www.symbiansigned.com/app/page
You need to 'order' UID for you application. Please check wiki for details on signing (search with maybe 'signing' keyword in wiki)

If you want to place the application on the Ovi Store you can go for free Ovi-signed signing, vs using Symbian-signed.

If you would have read the section in the link carefully, it would lead you to http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...Symbian_Signed) which gives you explaination. Most of these kind of things are in the form of detailed articles in the wiki

"If you have a TC TrustCenter Publisher ID, you can generate a certificate (.cer) and a private key (.key) file from it. "
I have the TC TrustCenter Publisher ID ( the .p12 file ), but i don't know how to generate the (.cer) and the (.key)

    Quoting from the same page

Extract the public and private keys from your certificate The following steps assume that your Publisher ID has been saved on your computer as a PKS12 file, named TCTrustCenter.p12. Please adapt the instructions below to the file name you chose when exporting the certificate.

Download File:TC-ConvertP12.zip and extract the contents.

Use the file tcp12p8.bat to create .KEY and .CER files as follows

tcp12p8 TCTrustCenter.p12 mypassword tc.key tc.cerThe resulting pair of certificate (.CER) and private key (.KEY) files are your Publisher ID and are referenced by any Symbian specific signing documentation. They are your company's electronic signature so keep them safe and private.
Isnt that what you are looking for?
