Get key events without canvas

Hello All,

I'm developing an application using the natives components like Form and List.
But, if the key 5 is pressed for 3 seconds, I have to do an action.
I know that by using Canvas I have the methods keyPressed and keyReleased.
But my question is, is it possible to get key events when using a Form or a List?

No. You must use Canvas if you want key events.

If you can use the Third Party GUI designing library like the LWUIT, then you can get the key events and the controls will be inside the respective handlers, like the keypressed(), keyReleased() and keyRepeated(). However as Grahm using the J2ME native API this is not possible.
