    Hi,

I am trying to self sign an app to test NetworkControl capability using these instructions. I get a sis file but cannot install on the device (N8).

I have 2 UIDs the unprotected one and the one I got with a developer cert and I tried both.

Anybody had the same problem? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Sev

for NetworkControl you would need to have a real developer certificate as well as publicer ID. The release version would also need to be certified signed.

    Hello,
i have a publisher ID, a developer certficate and an application that is installing fine on device using open signed offline.
Now i introduced a new feature, that requires NetworkControl. I added capab into .mmp file and tried to install, but it gives me "Unable to install".
I removed NetworkControl capab and the app is again installing with no problem.
    Device is E71.
I'm lost, i've searched around but i could find only suggestions about having publisher id and dev cert, that i already have and use....

    Thank you for any suggestion

Well... solved.... the app is using a client-server arch, and i forgot to include the new capab into the server part.... :-)

servers & clients are actually running in different processes, thus generally they can have different sets of capabilities, also "unable to install" error as such would not come from missing capability.

Well, what could i say? :-) This is the only thing i changed, and i recompiled 1k times in both cases....
hummm... maybe it's because at this stage of development i've got only one sis for both processes?
    i'll go deeper in it
    thank you for your reply
