Newbie question on S40 (Nokia X3-02)

Hi all, a probably very simple question on this expert forum, but before I start digging into things (it'sbeen quite a while that I programmed anything more than my programmable TV remote ;-) and my skills are well rusty), can someone tell me whether it is feasible to make a program for an X3-02 that keeps sounding a periodically repeating alarm after a missed call or a missed SMS? My wife loves the little X3-02 for it's simplicity but sorely misses this functionality which is standard e.g. on LG or Samsung, and easily programmable on e.g. many Android phones. The "reminder" programs in Ovi and other places aren't compatible with the X3-02.

I have done some searching around this site and from what I see it looks to me this isn't easily, or at all, feasible in Java or FlashLite, and other programming options don't seem available for the phone or its platform. Could someone verify that I'm correct? If it is feasible, please point me in the right direction on how to do it....

Correct; it is not feasible to do it with Java.

However, the Nokia X3-02 offers light effects out-of-the-box which can be turned off via the menu settings. Isn‘t that enough?

Thanks for your answers; it is as I thought then. Indeed light effects can be switched on and that mitigates the problem a bit. Meanwhile she's getting used to not having the reminders anymore. Thanks again.
