[moved] Unable to Install SIS file on Phone

Hi everyone,

I have created a hello world application with only heading and nothing else.

I have used Carbide C++ to develop application and SDK I used is for S60 V5. I generated sis file also which was self signed by the application. I transferred the sis file to my mobile, Nokia 5230, but during installation it shows Unable to Install! Error message.

Can anyone help me how to solve this problem?

Unable to Install is often raised when attempting to install Windows executables to the device (getting the files from the emulator). Make sure that you are building the project for a device target, usually GCCE.

Can you please tell me how to generate a proper SIS file, using SDK FOR S60 VERSION 5, Carbide C++?

First of all build the project for phone release (choose config : Phone Release(GCCE)).

Afterwards from the project properties add appropriate sis file for the project, you can refer to this link as how to make/sign sis files:

Hi,

I did the same way as given. That is, I get to Project Properties, set the package location n also selected self sign sis option.
After that sis file generated without any errors. But during installation in my Phone, im getting "Unable to Install (3)" error!

What can i do?
