device == "undefined" on N8 when?

Hi,

Apparently one of my users is ending up in a part of my code that I've never actually managed to get to myself, and to get there the regular (typeof device != "undefined") must be false.

Under what circumstances would device be undefined on a N8?

Update: I'm told the firmware is PR1.1 - could that be cause?

Ok, thanks - I saw that thread earlier, but was unsure if it applies to the N8. Makes sense that it would be the same problem, though.

...but this really sucks, actually - it seems the only thing I can do is suggest a hard reset to my users. Sigh.

Nokia, please fix in PR2.0!
