Sending bmp files to handphones

Hi all,

Let's say I have a bmp file which I would like to send through a GSM modem to a Nokia handphone. Besides including all relevant headers, do I need to encode the bmp file as well?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You will definitely need to encode the BMP file according to the OTA Bitmap format. (See Smart Messaging Specification document from Forum Nokia).
