Home Screen Widget like shortcut widget

Hello
I am trying to make a home screen widget like shortcut widget by using QT SDK with N97 Home Screen Publisher API.

N97 SDK has a public API to make a widget, but It only supports 5 templates and none of them like shortcut widget.

Is anyone has similar experience or can share some information?

Since that is the only API available for Symbian C++, and Qt does not offer any other API for the same purpose, the answer has to be ... sorry, no can do. You will have to make do with the current options.

Just update here.

I saw a widget from OVI store yesterday. The app name is Force Control widget.
There are five icons in the home screen widget and all of those icons can interact with.
Just wondering how this make it.

Any idea ? Hope someone can share information.

I have not seen the app but a WRT based widget may be the explanation for their feature ...

It seems that homescreen widget APIs are provided by Symbian^3 SDK 1.0, please refer its release notes for details.

After a quick search in the SDK headers I'd have to say that the release notes is incorrect, the API is not included. Which is OK considering that the API is not supposed to be there given its "platform" classification.
