Hi All,
Here is the SVG tips for all designers, who want to draw their own svg files to theme Nokia S60 phones.
*** To ensure optimum theme package size when creating SVG files:
1. Reduce points (anchors) by:
a) Removing stacked points
b) Removing points that have no visual impact
2. Reduce curved points by:
a) Converting hidden curved lines to straight lines
b) Changing visually indifferent curved lines to straight lines
c) Retracting unnecessary handles
3. Simplify shapes (paths) by:
a) Removing hidden shape details
b) Combining shapes with similar fills
*** To aid rendering performance on an S60 device when creating SVG files:
4. Use gradients and opacity sparingly
5. Combine shapes with same gradient
6. Do not use overlapping transparency (opacity)
7. Avoid using overlapping transparency or transparency on a gradient. Create the same visual effect by ‘faking’ the transparency outcome.

Hi phoneyguy,
thanks for participating in the thread, but I don't really understand how what you posted, helps the icons to appear on the phone...
What's happening, with me at least, is that I change the icons on carbide, but after installing the theme sis on the phone, there are some icons that do not get customized...
Do you know what to do to overcome this issue?

CSS
I figure it out with drawing...like some shapes are not supported in svf format. But if there's problem, it shows u an unappropriate icon.
But there are some icons that doesnt work (so far):
- GPS Locator
- Find tools
- OVI store
I didn't change them all, still wroking on that...and maybe is problem in that.
Hi,
Do all these icons (GPS Locator, Find Tools and OVI store) are there in the C.ui tool. If Yes, let me know the ID, then I will try to help you.

hi,
i have nokia C1-01.I creat themes but when i transfer them to my mobile it says ''theme corrupted'' plzzzzzzz help me out....i use version 3.2
Phoneguy you're missing the point enterely.
I have the same issue trying to create a theme for S60V5 with the correct plugin. When you edit a SVG and do your own, it usually bugs and doesn't display the new icon.
Update: Restarting your phone fixes most issues.

Hi folks,
Well, i think its not the SVG problems.Phoneyguy is not missing the points here, the "ID" that he/she said here, are the "UID".
Icon are representing App or Folder, and has its own UID (with some additional major and minor ID for folders).
Some icons defined in Carbide.UI most likely to be the icons set for a generic/base theme, yet
in fact, many symbian version use another UID for a same apps/folder that already defined in Carbide.UI base graphic themes..
true, its kinda funny yet annoying and challenging! Some icons like GPS locator, phone search, Tools, and OVI store are for examples..
The solution is simple: by using the "Third Party Icons" tool in Carbide.ui.
You could add the Application UID only for apps,
or Application UID + Major + Minor UID for system folders.
You could start adding some UIDs for system folders listed here: http://www.developer.nokia.com/Commu...System_Folders
For some specific apps UID, using Y-Tasks will be great
