I don't believe it requires any, did you read the installation guide?

I think you might have an older version of Carbide.ui installed, be sure to uninstall it and that your registry is clean
Once you download and install Carbide.ui you go to the Help menu
in the help menu is Register
you simply follow the prompts it opens a web browser where you sign in, and a serial number is shown (as well as mailed to you)
go back to the registration dialog and enter your username and number.

It seems pretty staight forward when I did it. Sorry about saying it wasn't needed, I didn't try to register before.
