Grid view and video playing

Hi,
I am very new to this technology, and still in learning stage.

I am trying to parse XML and display the content in Grid view, and when I click on the content item it should open the content detail view with a video thumbnail image, and when I click on the thumbnail image it starts the video. Can I play video from http server.

should I use Qt and Qt quick for this project.

Is there any example or sample that i can refer, please help me.

I have another problem,
I am not able to parse XML from local drive. I am using the flickr example and copied the XML content of this link http://api.flickr.com/services/feeds...ne?format=rss2 to a flicker.rss file and put in the local drive of the project folder. when i call this file I am not able to get the content.
