Best or most compatible ring tones format for nokia devices

I am developing an application using nokia web tools in this application user can download ring tones for nokia devices. i want to know which is the best (compatible) format for ring tones so i put these ring tones on the server.
(mp3,AAC,flv,mp4,........etc which is most compatible for nokia devices)

please guide me for all devices.
for example : 1-symbian^3
2-s60 5th edition
3-s60 3rd edition
3-S-40

What's "most compatible" depends..., but since before MP3 support appeared in Nokia phones, they've supported AMR, AMR-WB, if you want a compressed format (WAV's will do, too, but they'll be too big in most cases, and MIDI or SP-MIDI, but with MIDI formats you can only do "instruments" and not music or audio in general).

But I guess pretty much "all" Nokia phones support AAC and MP3 since several years now.

thanks petirb ,yes you are right, so i have put mp3 format ringtones in my application.
