What is the size of the SIS file in the failure case? 10MB? 100MB?
What does the Smart Installer log file show in the failure case?

Any news on this? I am facing the same issue. My application is about 17mb (containing some multimedia content).
On Symbian Belle, installation with smart installer works. On Symbian Anna, I am facing the issue as descibed by the other guys. If I remove some content and add only some media files, the smart installer on Symbian Anna also works correctly. Moreover, the installation of the 17MB file works if I do not use the smart installer.

The SI team would like to have a look at your app, so it would be good to send us the SIS file so they can match it against the log files and also understand how much the heap consumption would be for it. You can sent it to <my_username>@ovi.com

Thanks for your offer. I was able to solve the issue on my own last week.
The reason for the failed installation was not due to the size of the app, it was about the number of files which is my fault since my app did not scale as well as I thought. As soon as I reduced the number of files (in my case content files, not cpp/h/qml), the installation succeed without any problems and the app passed QA yesterday.

Thanks Andrew. While I did forward you their request just in case, I also worked with the SI team to help them isolated the issue with was clearly easy to investigate without a need for your particular app. The conclusion is of course that the SI needs a bump in max heap size and this is now added to team's backlog. I hope to be able to update this thread once the issue is fixed.
