How i can get a certified of Manufacturer

Hi all,

I have developed an application using j2me. In my App, i want get Cell-ID, wifi-MACADDRESS.But this article
(http://www.developer.nokia.com/Commu..._ID_in_Java_ME) tell me about : "MIDlet needs to be signed to a manufacturer or operator domain; otherwise the property will be null."

How i can get a certified of Manufacturer (Nokia) or Operator domain (not VeriSign or Thawte)

PS : if i could sign my App by a certified of Nokia, is my app run on Sony or Samsung phone or other phone ???

Hello Thanhln,

generally speaking, unfortunately it is not possible for a third party developer to obtain the manufacturer signing by Nokia as based on a developer request. The signing is allowed for the applications which are approved and developed based on the request by Nokia only. Similarly for operator domain, the application would need to be accepted by an operator first before allowing the signing.

Regarding the question on running Nokia signed applications on the devices by other manufacturers, based on the definition by this Wiki article the application will not run on the devices: http://www.developer.nokia.com/Commu...acturer_Domain

If you establish business relation with Nokia or any operator and get your app signed by them, it would install & run - on devices from that OEM or Operator..... for other OEMs or operators you need to establish similar business tie-up for your app with them and then get it signed from them to be used on their device.
