Hi
Im facing an installation problem im trying to install an app .. my Phone application settings are set to
allow all (not just signed).
and i was able to install that appl couple of months ago on same phone now i cannot install it , its giving
Unable to install constrained by the certificate error .
any idea why ?

can it be like the certificate expired? in that case message will be different right?

Generally this error appears when the certificate with which you are signing the app, does not includes the IMEI of the target device.So check with the dev cert also this may be appear if you simply sign the application with publisher id / key & not with the dev cert.

Yes, it is constrained by certificate.
Such constraints are:
- IMEI-s listed in the signature
- UID-s listed in the signature
After the latest renewal of Symbian Signed, certification contains both the UID-s assigned to your account by Symbian Signed and the IMEI-s you have specified. Similar rules apply to developer certificates issued by the Ovi Publisher programme.

It would be "certificate expired".

I'm aslo have a same problem i get the certificate from symiban signed website but after signed the application when i tried to install its giving me message "unable to install, Constrained by the certificate"

i dont know what can i do in above mention case. can anyone please help me in this regard.

check that the IMEI of the device as well as the UIDs included in the sis file all are included in the certificate.
