    Hi,
I was trying to deploy apps on WP7 device.
    I followed this links
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/libr...=vs.92%29.aspx
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/libr...=vs.92%29.aspx
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/libr...=vs.92%29.aspx

After this I see the Zune detects the phone. But when I try to deploy the app on to the device then I am getting the error message
Cannot deploy apps device is developer locked
So I tried to register the device . I could not register and getting this error message
Marketplace registration incomplete. Please return to the App Hub for more information. (ErrorCode:0x80043009)

I am guessing my App Hub ID is not being activated. Is that true. Please suggest me.

When you buy WP7 phone it is in "developer locked" state.
If you want to deploy app on your phone, first you have to "buy" developer account by $99 annual fee.
But if you are a student, so in the most cases you will get your developer account free of charge, if you have
proper studen id number (ISIC card number). But if you are not a student, you have to buy a Marketplace developer account.

When yo have marketplace developer account, you can unlock you WP7 phone with this app found from Windows Phone SDK 7.1 folder :

GeoTrust validates every Developer account in the App Hub, for that it sends email to the accounts asking for there Govt. Validated Documents, after your submission of documents you vl be authenticated and your account will be enabled.

May be some, GeoTrust problem, however you have to unlock or register your device using Developer Phone Registration to solve this problem.

Sorry for silly question. Does it mean that you cannot develop WP apps even for yourself (for fun) without uploading them to MS marketplace? One basically must pay MS for beeing able to use his own phone as development platform?

Yes, that is the basic story. Joining Launchpad may provide an alternative (I am not a member, but as I read it offers free AppHub registration).

We are offering a free Microsoft App Hub registration for the first one year to those Nokia Developer PRO and Launchpad members who are registered Ovi publishers in the countries that Microsoft supports on the App Hub .
    Are you Nokia/Ovi publisher?
