Restricting the access of Phone's 'Settings' by password

Hi,

I want to prompt a form to enter a password from my application, when someone is trying to access the phone's settings application. If the entered password is correct application will allow the user to access the phone's settings app. Otherwise display a message and restrict accessing the settings app.

Please let me know is it possible to do or any guidence to how to do it.

AFAIK, no such mechanisms exist using Qt. I suspect it might be rather difficult to do even if you had the required capabilities and used Symbian C++ APIs, too.

I guess you'd have to find out what the Settings app really is (its UID, at least), and then try to monitor attempts to launch it, and then kill it. Some people have tried to implement such things to prevent uninstalling their apps.
